Podstrana and its riviera (Strozanac, Grljevac, Sveti Martin, Mutogras) feature beautiful pebble and sand beaches. Except the sea and plenty of sun, visitors may also enjoy the beauty of lush Mediterranean vegetation, pine and tamarisk forests. Numerous restaurants and inns offer home-made specialities and Dalmatian wines. The region is also famous for its high-quality peaches and cherries. Podstrana is very well connected with Split and Omis by public transportation; it is also the favourite public beach of the citizens of Split.

PODSTRANA, a town southeast of Split; population 5,240. Economy is based on farming and tourism. Podstrana is located on the main road (M2, E65).

Podstrana features the remains from Roman times, probably the ancient Pituntium. Two small -churches of St. George date back to the early Middle Ages. It was mentioned in the sources that the peace treaty between Duke Mislav and the Vene-tian dodge Petro Tradeni was concluded near the church of St. Martin. Baroque structures include the parish church of St. Anthony and the Cindro house.
