The present town was founded after the Turks had withdrawn in the 17th and the 18th centuries. The 18th-century church of St. Michael is a reconstructed Gothic structure, from which the inscription and the coat of arms of the Rogov abbot Petar Zadranin (second half of the 14th c.) originate. The church has a monumental wooden crucifix dating back to the end of the 14th century.
