skrip is a frequent destination of many visitors, especially of those who are interested in archaeologi-cal and other exhibits and documents kept in the museum which has an archaeological, ethno-graphic, cultural and historical collection; the text titled Povaljski Prag, the first known Croatian text in verse, represents a specially valuable exhibit.

SKRIP, a village in the interior of the central part of the island of Brac, 2 km south of Splitska; elevation 251 m, population 206. Chief occupations are farming and livestock breeding. Situated on the local road.
 

Around the mediaeval architectural complex with the tower of Radojkovic's Citadel monumental prehistoric walls have been preserved. The lower part of the tower represents the ruins of a Roman mausoleum. Sarcophagi dating back to the early Christian period were found near Cerinic's Citadel, and the stone quarry from the Roman per-iod lies in the surroundings. In the stone quarry Rasoke the relief featuring Heracles (3rd - 4th c.), carved in live rock, was found. The early mediaeval church of the Holy Spirit on the graveyard has undergone several adaptations. In 1618 a big castle of the Cerineo- Cerinic family was built in the centre of the village (housing the Brac Museum), and the Baroque parish church with the richly adorned front is near the castle. The altar is ornamented with four paintings by Jacopo Palma the Younger.
